While working with Fffunction, we teamed up with The Wave to boost their digital presence. We brought authentic surf culture to life online through fresh website concepts. They later asked us directly back to help design their retail packaging.
Brief
Create website concepts that consider exactly how visitors will use the platform. The design needed to feel exciting while staying true to authentic surf culture.
Aims
Build modular components that the Fffunction team could use to roll out the rest of the site. I also needed to establish a visual style that would work just as well offline as it does on screen.
Concepts
By mixing The Wave's brushstroke graphics with a fresh typeface that complements their logo, we created a bold layout. The result is a modern, distinctive look that guides users through their offering.
Retail designs
The Wave got in touch and asked me to help design their retail merchandise, from towels and t-shirts to water bottles and sunscreen.
Style
Bringing the digital look into their physical packaging really helped tie the brand together. It's playful and accessible, with subtle nods to surf culture throughout.
Responsive
I designed every concept with multiple screen sizes in mind, laying the groundwork for a fully responsive site that looks and works beautifully on any device.
